The Mobile Passport application for iOS and Android phones speeds you through U.S. Customs at select airports nationwide. This free Mobile Passport app allows the user to setup a personal profile (you can setup family member profiles too), answer a few questions from Customs and Passport Control, send your information to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and receive a CBP receipt with a scannable barcode that’s valid for 4 hours. Then simply get in the “Mobile Passport Control” special, faster express lane at the airport customs area, show your passport and scan your barcode and that’s all. It couldn’t be simpler!
You can reuse you profile, so you can use it again and again for future trips. The Mobile Passport app is authorized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and sponsored by Boeing and the Airports Council International – North America. Many users have found this line to be faster than the Global Entry line.
The current airports that you can use this Mobile Passport app at are: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Houston Hobby, Miami, Minneapolis, New York JFK, Newark, Orlando, Raleigh Durham, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tampa and Washington Dulles. They are rolling this Mobile Passport app out in new airports so it should be coming to an airport near you if it isn’t already close to you. It is also available at one cruise port which is at Port Everglades in Florida.
